As designers, we eagerly await the moment we complete a project for our clients. It’s the culmination of their vision becoming a reality.
It’s hard to describe the excitement and joy that fills the air as we see all our hard work come together. The carefully selected furniture pieces, the custom-made items, and the meticulous attention to detail in our artwork and accessory selection finally find their perfect place in the space we’ve envisioned. It’s a true masterpiece, a reflection of both our creativity and the unique personality of our client.
The joy on our clients’ faces as they explore their new space, touch the carefully curated fabrics, and sit on the thoughtfully chosen furniture is priceless. It’s a moment of validation, a confirmation that their trust in us was well-placed and that their vision has been brought to life. Their space now reflects their personality, style, and aspirations—a true reflection of who they are!
Of course, we also love sharing these transformations with you, and we can’t wait to do so, room by room, over the next few months with one special client’s home redesign.
Today, we’re beginning that journey with the keeping room!
What is a keeping room?
While these rooms appear in more and more new builds, they were originally featured in many Colonial-era homes.
Keeping rooms are traditionally off the kitchen and meant to be an inviting, cozy space for people to stay warm, hang out, and talk with the people cooking… while also staying out of our way!
This was what the keeping room in our client’s home looked like before we worked together.
And here is the after.

While the beautiful artwork above the fireplace already reflected our client’s personality, we were able to elevate the vibe of this keeping room with a redesign that infused their taste throughout the space.
Inspired by the artwork our client loved, we included shades of pink, green, and gold in the furniture, pillows, and accessories.

We also brought in more pieces of our client’s collection of Hunt Slonem art that made the space whimsical, bright, and highly personalized. No project of ours is complete without these touches that give each space its own style.
